Senior Police Inspector from the Paud Police Station, as reported by ANI, confirmed that the FIR was filed under sections 323, 504, and 506 of the IPC. Additionally, charges under the Arms Act have been included.

Pooja Khedkar, a 2023 batch IAS officer, is facing accusations of falsely presenting herself as an OBC non-creamy layer candidate during her UPSC application. She also claimed to have visual and mental disabilities but refused assessments to verify these claims.

A video of Manorama Khedkar, Pooja’s mother, threatening a group of men with a gun has gone viral, compounding the controversy surrounding the family. The incident in the video concerns a land parcel purchased by Pooja’s father, Dilip Khedkar, a retired Maharashtra government officer, in Dhadwali village, Mulshi tehsil, Pune.

Local residents have accused the Khedkars of encroaching on neighboring farmers’ land. The video shows Manorama Khedkar, flanked by security personnel, in a heated confrontation with neighbors. She is seen shouting at a man while brandishing a pistol, which she later conceals.

“We are aware of the video circulating on social media. Once we verify the facts, we will initiate an investigation to determine if Manorama Khedkar has a license for the firearm,” a senior Pune Rural police official told PTI.

Farmer Kuldeep Pasalkar alleged that Manorama Khedkar was attempting to forcibly take over his land and had been threatening other farmers as well. “She came to my plot with security guards and started threatening us while holding a firearm,” Pasalkar claimed.

According to official sources speaking to PTI, if Pooja Khedkar is found culpable, she could be terminated from her probationary IAS position. The Centre has set up a single-member committee to reassess all documents she submitted during her civil services examination and subsequent selection.

“The officer may face termination from service if found guilty. She could also face criminal charges if she is found to have misrepresented facts or manipulated documents for her selection,” a source said.
