Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is expected to miss the grand wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, scheduled for Friday, July 12, after testing positive for COVID-19.
As reported by IndiaToday.in, Kumar, who had been on a promotional tour for his latest film “Sarfira,” started feeling unwell in recent days. Following the appearance of symptoms, he underwent a COVID-19 test, which confirmed the infection. Kumar has since isolated himself and is adhering to his doctors’ guidelines.

A source close to the situation informed HT City that Kumar opted for testing after discovering that some members of his promotional team had contracted the virus.
“The actor tested positive on Friday morning, leading to his absence from the final promotional events and Anant Ambani’s wedding, to which Anant had personally invited him,” the source disclosed.
The source further added, “Although it’s disappointing, Akshay, being the responsible person he is, has promptly isolated himself.”
The monsoon season has coincided with another surge in COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, “Sarfira,” starring Akshay Kumar and a remake of the 2020 Tamil film “Soorarai Pottru,” hit theaters today.
