Father’s Day 2024:- Every year, Father’s day is celebrated on the third sunday of june month. This year, Father’s day will be celebrated on June 16, 2024. This day is dedicated to all the fathers in the world who support, guide and protect their family. Father is just like a superhero for his children.
This day is celebrated on different dates in different countries. The United States, India and most of the other countries celebrate this day on the third sunday of june but some countries like Portugal, Spain, Italy and Croatia observe father’s day on March 19. In some countries, it is also celebrated in September.

Father’s Day 2024:- History
First time, Father’s day was observed in the United States but with the passage of time, whole world started celebrating this day. Father’s day was proposed by the Sonora Smart Dodd in the US. Sonora had the five siblings and her father was the single parent who solely did upbringing of all his six children. He was the civil war veteran William Jackson Smart.
Sonora loved the way his father cares for the family. Looking at her father’s dedication and support towards the family, she wanted to celebrate a father’s day on June 5 which was her father’s birthday. But due to the time constraints of the church, finally the day was started celebrating on the third sunday of June.
The first ever Father’s day was celebrated in 1910. In the year 1972, the US President Richard Nixon formally approved the father’s day. Therefore, formally the first father’s day was celebrated in the US on June 18, 1972.

Father’s Day 2024:- Significance
Father’s Day is celebrated to recognise the sacrifices and efforts of a father towards the family and children. Father supports his children at every aspect of the life whether mentally, socially or financially. Most of the people know the importance of Mother but the role of father is also very significant in the life of children.
Usually, the mother expresses her love towards the children while the father doesn’t but from inside he loves and supports his children a lot.
Children give special gifts and surprises to their father on this day to make him feel special. Party and dinner are also organised for the father to make the day memorable.
