Harvey Weinstein, the former Hollywood producer, recently pleaded not guilty to a new charge of a criminal sex act in New York.
Harvey Weinstein, the once-powerful Hollywood producer, is back in the spotlight after being indicted on a new criminal sex charge in New York. On September 18, 2024, he pleaded not guilty to a fresh allegation of sexual assault that occurred between April 29, 2006, and May 6, 2006.

According to the indictment, Weinstein allegedly forced a woman to engage in oral sex during this time. Although the details about the new accuser are being kept confidential, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg praised the survivor for coming forward, suggesting that this could lead to further scrutiny into Weinstein’s history of sexual misconduct.
Weinstein, 72, appeared in court in a wheelchair, recovering from recent surgery. His lawyer, Arthur Aidala, expressed surprise at the charge, claiming that they have yet to uncover the accuser’s identity and specifics surrounding the accusation. Aidala also reiterated Weinstein’s long-standing defense that all his sexual encounters were consensual.
Weinstein is already serving a 23-year sentence following his 2020 conviction for rape and sexual assault charges stemming from his initial trial in New York. He is also facing additional criminal charges in Los Angeles, where he was convicted in a separate case involving multiple counts of sexual assault.
Despite these convictions, Weinstein maintains his innocence, insisting that none of the acts were non-consensual. This latest charge could lead to further legal battles as prosecutors continue to investigate allegations against him.
