What has captured even more attention is Jaiswal breaking an 89-year-old record, becoming the first player in Test cricket history to score more than 750 runs in his first 10 home innings. He surpassed the previous record held by West Indies legend George Headley, who had scored 747 runs in his first 10 innings at home.
This feat also marked Jaiswal’s sixth consecutive fifty-plus score in home Tests, setting a new record for India. Despite his dismissal at the hands of Bangladesh’s pacer Nahid Rana, his innings alongside Rishabh Pant played a crucial role in lifting India out of early trouble.
Jaiswal’s consistency and ability to perform under pressure have made him one of India’s most reliable Test batsmen, and he is poised to continue challenging top performers like Joe Root for this year’s run-scoring charts.
