In her acceptance speech, she highlighted the need for the music industry to provide better support for emerging artists, emphasizing the importance of livable wages and health insurance.

Roan shared her personal experience of being signed at a young age, only to face challenges such as finding employment and affording health insurance after being dropped by her label.
Roan’s debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, released in 2023, garnered significant attention, leading to six Grammy nominations this year, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. Her performance of “Pink Pony Club” during the ceremony was a standout moment, featuring rodeo clowns and a giant pink pony.
In her speech, Chappell Roan posed a poignant question to the industry: “We got you, but do you got us?” his call to action underscores the challenges many artists face in securing adequate support within the music industry.
