Dressed in a striking metallic silver skirt and halter top, Shakira opened her set with the iconic “Hips Don’t Lie,” and energized the crowd by shouting, “Te Quiero, Colombia!” (I love you, Colombia). Accompanied by an ensemble of dancers—including both humans and robots—she seamlessly transitioned into performances of “Te Felicito,” “TQG,” and “Puntería,” showcasing her impeccable dance moves throughout.
Television viewers were treated to an extraordinary visual display featuring large 3D wolves and floating gems on the soccer field, symbolizing Shakira’s new artistic era.
Although Shakira has headlined many prestigious sports events—including the World Cup, Davis Cup, NBA All-Star Game, and Super Bowl—this performance was her first at Copa America. It also marked a historic moment as the tournament featured its first-ever halftime show styled after the Super Bowl, extending beyond the usual 15-minute break.
Organizers capitalized on the U.S. hosting the Copa America this year, incorporating the American tradition of elaborate halftime shows.
