Google frequently delights users with inventive and engaging doodles for notable occasions. Today, the Google Doodle honors the launch of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. This year’s Summer Olympics, hosted by Paris, runs from July 26 to August 11.

Excitement is palpable across social media, with athletes and fans expressing their enthusiasm for the games. To commemorate this event, Google has swapped its homepage logo with a lively depiction of animals participating in summer sports. This vibrant doodle will be visible all day Friday.

The identity of the doodle artist remains undisclosed, but clicking on the doodle directs users to search results featuring the latest news on the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Olympics officially kick off in Paris today, with the opening ceremony taking place on the Seine River. The games will conclude on August 11 with a closing ceremony featuring a parade of athletes and flags.

Preliminary rounds in sports like archery, soccer, handball, and rugby began on July 24, ahead of the opening ceremony. India has a robust presence, with 117 athletes competing in 69 events, vying for 95 medals.

Notable Indian competitors include javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, badminton stars PV Sindhu, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and Chirag Shetty, as well as weightlifter Mirabai Chanu.

Following the opening ceremony, the Indian men’s hockey team will face New Zealand in their first pool game on Saturday, July 27. Other events such as badminton, boxing, shooting, and table tennis will also commence on the same day.

Coverage of the event will be broadcast on Sports 18 and the Viacom 18 network, with live streaming available for free on the JioCinema app.
