‘Breaking Bad’ actor Mark Margolis has passed away at a New York Hospital, following a short illness. In 2012, Margolis was nominated for an Emmy for ‘Breaking Bad’.
Mark Margolis, who played sinister, wheelchair-bound cartel don Hector Salamanca in TV shows ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’, has died on thursday, his family said. He was 83.
He died at a New York Hospital, following a short illness. As per statement, his wife and son at his bedside when he passed away.
Bryan Cranston paid tribute to Mark Margolis
Bryan Cranston, the Breaking Bad star paid tribute to Margolis and captioned a post on instagram, “I am very saddened today to learn of a friend’s passing. Mark Margolis was a really good actor and a lovely human being. Fun and engaging off the set, and (in the case of Breaking Bad and Your Honor) intimidating and frightening on set.”
“His quiet energy belied his mischievous nature and curious mind… And he loved sharing a good joke. I miss him already. Rest now, Mark and thank you for your friendship and your exceptional body of work,” he added.

Breaking Bad social media account mourned the death of Margolis
Breaking Bad official account tweeted, “We join millions of fans in mourning the passing of the immensely talented Mark Margolis, who – with his eyes, a bell, and very few words – turned Hector Salamanca into one of the most unforgettable characters in the history of television. He will be missed.”
In the Breaking Bad, Mark Margolis played the role of a patriarch of the drug-smuggling Salamanca family. He suffers a stroke after being poisoned by a rival – is only able to communicate by tapping a bell with his finger.

Born in Philadelphia in 1939, Mark Margolis moved to New York to learn acting.
He played supporting roles in many films such as Scarface, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Black Swan as well as in HBO series Oz.

In 2012, Margolis was nominated for an Emmy for ‘Breaking Bad’.
He is survived by his 61 years old wife Jacqueline and their only child Morgan and their three grandsons.
