Tollywood actor Krishnam Raju has passed away in Hyderabad at the age of 83. He was the paternal uncle of Baahubali star Prabhas. Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao paid him tribute.
Legendary telugu actor Krishnam Raju has passed away on sunday September 11 morning in Hyderabad. As per reports, he had been suffering from health issues for sometime and was admitted in AIG hospital. He was 83.
Rebel star Krishnam Raju was the paternal uncle of Baahubali star Prabhas. He was last seen in Prabhas’ film ‘Radhe Shyam’ as the spiritual guru.
His career began in telugu films in 1966 after briefly working as journalist. ‘Bhakta Kannappa’ and ‘Kataktala Rudraiah’ are his notable films.
Krishnam Raju was the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and served as minister in the cabinet of former Prime minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He had won five Filmfare Awards South and three state Nandi awards for his acting skills.
Telangana CM condoled the demise of krishnam Raju
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao condoled the death of Raju and expressed condolences to the family.
He said, “The death of Krishnam Raju, who served the people of the country as a member of the Lok Sabha, as a Union Minister and through the field of political governance, is sad. Prayed for their souls to rest in peace. The CM conveyed his deepest condolences to the family members of late Krishnamraj.”
“The death of Krishnamraju, who acted as a hero in many films during his fifty-year career and won the hearts of moviegoers with his unique acting style, as a ‘rebel star’, is a great loss to the Telugu silver screen,” he added.
Krishnam Raju is survived by his wife and three daughters.
