Maharana Pratap Jayanti 2022:- Maharana Pratap Singh birth anniversary is being celebrated across India on May 9, 2022. According to english calendar, his birth anniversary falls on May 9 every year. However, according to the Hindu calendar, his birth date comes on Tritiya tithi of Jyeshtha’s Shukla Paksh.

Maharana Pratap Singh was born on May 9, 1540 in Rajput family. He was the 13th king of Mewar dynasty. His father name was Udai Singh ll, who was the founder of Udaipur city. He was the 12th king of Mewar. Maharana Pratap Singh had three brothers and two stepsisters.
Maharana Pratap Singh was also the king of a huge body. His height was 7 feet 6 inches (2.26 metres) and weight was 110 kilograms. He used to wear 72 kilograms body armour and carry spear of 81 kilograms. That’s why he is also known as one of the strongest warriors in Indian history.
Maharana Pratap was the brave, fearless and independent warrior. He was the one who hadn’t accepted Mughals empire as against most of the kings who had accepted supremacy of Akbar. Maharana had defeated Mughal Emperor Akbar thrice in 1577, 1578 and 1579.
Maharana also known for his battle of Haldighati and battle of Dewair. He played very crucial role in these fights. He had also a huge family. He had 11 wives and 17 children. His eldest son, Maharana Amar Singh 1 had become 14th king of Mewar dynasty after Maharana Pratap Singh.
Maharana Pratap died at the age of 56 on January 19, 1597, after he was injured in a hunting accident.
His life teach us many lessons like to be fearless, brave, independent and don’t to be a slave of anyone. Many people treat him as a mentor and follow his fighting spirit.
