Adipurush is an upcoming Indian epic mythological film based on the Valmiki’s epic Ramayana. This movie is going to release in theatres on June 16, 2023. The advance booking for the movie has started on June 11, 2023.
Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer movie was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages. The movie was announced on August 18, 2020 via a promotional poster during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The movie has been directed and written by Om Raut, who earlier helmed the period action film ‘Tanhaji’ (2020). The idea about this movie came into his mind after watching the 1992 Japanese film ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’. He thought to made a film on Ramayana by using modern technology. The script of the movie was written by Om Raut amidst Covid-19 lockdown in India.

Adipurush Release Date and Trailer
Adipurush will release in theatres on June 16, 2023. Earlier, it was scheduled to be released on August 11, 2022 but due to clash with Laal Singh Chaddha, it was postponed. The movie was postponed again so that it couldn’t clash with Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya. The duration of the movie is 179 minutes.
The teaser of the film was released on October 2, 2023 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti but the teaser received heavy criticism for its visual effects and CGI. On May 9, 2023 the trailer of the movie was released which was received better for its improved visual effects. The action trailer of this film was released on June 6, 2023.

Adipurush Budget
The budget of this movie is Rs.500 crore (US $63 million). This is one of the most expensive Indian movies ever made. It is estimated that Rs.250 crore (US $31 million) have been spent on visual effects.
Initially, the original budget was estimated to be ₹400 crore (US $50 million). However, after the extreme backlash to the visual effects and CGI on the film’s teaser, the budget was increased to ₹500 crore (US $63 million) to improve and enhance the visual effects, CGI, lighting and color grading.

Amazon Prime Video acquired the post-theatrical digital distribution rights of the movie.
