In a Billboard interview, Wilson discussed how the fast pace of her life inspired the title. “My life has been a whirlwind,” she said. “Whether it’s someone telling me, ‘Your life has been a whirlwind,’ or seeing the word in a book, it surrounds me. Whirlwinds create chaos, but eventually, you find your center.”

Wilson previewed “Whirlwind” with the release of “Country’s Cool Again” in February. After announcing the album, she released the lead single, “Hang Tight Honey,” on May 13, which reached No. 19 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The next single, “4x4xU,” is set for release on July 4.

“Whirlwind” will be available on August 23 and is currently available for pre-save and pre-order.
