She shared a collection of photos and videos from the hospital, describing how she feels “like an old lady.” In her caption, she announced her new album and wrote, “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive.”

Alongside the health update, Halsey revealed her fifth studio album and released its lead single, “The End,” where she sings about frequent health issues: “every couple of years now, the doctor says I’m sick.”

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, known professionally as Halsey, gained fame for her collaboration with The Chainsmokers on “Closer” and her platinum debut album “Badlands.”

In her Instagram video, Halsey shared her determination to overcome her health challenges: “I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. When I’m 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not going to be sick. I’m going to look super hot and have lots of energy and get to redo my 20s in my 30s.”

Halsey has often spoken about her health issues, mentioning that she has been unwell for much of her adult life. Her condition worsened during her pregnancy with her son, Ender, in 2021. She has been treated for endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, and mast cell activation syndrome. Her recent post suggested she is now also battling lupus and leukemia, as she tagged the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

In one of the videos, Halsey is seen receiving hospital treatment, and her new song reflects her ongoing battle with health problems, referencing “poison” in her blood and starting treatment.

Leukemia, a cancer affecting white blood cells, has various types. According to the NHS, its cause is unknown and it increases susceptibility to infections and fatigue. Treatment typically involves chemotherapy.

Lupus, another condition Halsey hinted at, is complex and can be life-threatening. The NHS notes it affects various body parts and can be challenging to diagnose due to its varied symptoms. Notably, Selena Gomez, who also has lupus, underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 due to the disease.

Lupus symptoms include extreme fatigue, facial rashes, and joint pain and swelling. Even mild cases can significantly impact quality of life, and many people remain undiagnosed until they experience a severe flare-up.

Halsey’s candid revelation garnered a massive response from her fans, with her post receiving over a million likes and thousands of supportive comments.
