To save their lives, Marty, his politically ambitious wife Wendy, and their two teenage children, Charlotte and Jonah, are forced to suddenly relocate from a quiet Chicago suburb to a summer resort community. Once in the Ozarks, the Byrde family must navigate their new, dangerous reality, which involves getting entangled with local criminals—most notably the established crime family, the Langmores, and local heroin producers, the Snells—all while trying to appease the ruthless Mexican drug cartel and evade an ongoing FBI investigation.
The series explores the increasingly dark and morally compromised choices the family makes to survive and eventually thrive in their criminal enterprise.
