The House Ethics Committee report accuses Matt Gaetz of paying for sex with multiple women, including a 17-year-old girl, and using illicit drugs.
The House Ethics Committee has released a report alleging that former Congressman Matt Gaetz engaged in serious misconduct during his tenure from 2017 to 2020. The report accuses Gaetz of paying for sex with multiple women, including a 17-year-old girl, and using illicit drugs.

According to the 37-page report, Gaetz paid over $90,000 to 12 women for sex and drugs. Testimonies and digital evidence, such as text messages and payment receipts, support these claims. One testimony details Gaetz having sex with a 17-year-old at a party in 2017, for which she received $400.
The report also highlights Gaetz’s involvement in sex-filled parties and vacations, suggesting he violated state laws related to sexual misconduct. Additionally, it mentions his acceptance of impermissible gifts and obstruction of the investigation.
Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing, labeling the allegations as a political smear. He filed a lawsuit to block the report’s release, arguing it contains defamatory information and exceeds Congressional power since he resigned from Congress.
Despite his resignation and withdrawal from consideration for the Attorney General position in President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, the Ethics Committee proceeded with the report’s release.

The committee did not find sufficient evidence for sex-trafficking charges but highlighted substantial evidence of drug use and other misconduct.
Matt Gaetz‘s political future remains uncertain, but he has expressed interest in running for a Senate seat in Florida.
