This year’s tournament, hosted in the UAE, features 10 teams, including defending champions Australia, who are aiming for their seventh title. Newcomers Scotland are participating for the first time, bringing fresh energy to the competition.

The teams are split into two groups for a round-robin stage, with the top teams moving on to the knockout rounds. Matches are being played in Dubai and Sharjah, with the final set for October 20.

A historic milestone for this edition is the equalization of prize money for men’s and women’s teams. For the first time, the prize pool for the women’s tournament matches that of the men’s, with the winners set to take home $2.34 million. This significant move highlights growing efforts toward gender equality in sports, particularly cricket, where women’s cricket continues to gain more recognition and global attention.

India, placed in Group A, will face tough competition from Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Pakistan. Their first match is scheduled for October 4 against New Zealand, followed by matches against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Australia.
