In the 25m pistol qualification, Manu Bhaker scored 294 in the precision round and 298 in the rapid round.
Manu Bhaker of India advanced to her third final at the Paris 2024 Olympics, finishing second in the women’s 25m pistol shooting qualification on Friday.
Bhaker, who has already secured two medals at Paris 2024, achieved a total score of 590. Veronika Major from Hungary claimed the top position by matching the Olympic qualification record of 592, originally set by Jingjing Zhang of China at Rio 2016.

At 22 years old, Bhaker has won bronze medals in the women’s 10m air pistol and mixed team 10m air pistol events during these games. In the 25m pistol qualification, she scored 294 in the precision round and 298 in the rapid round.
Esha Singh, another Indian shooter, finished in 18th place with a score of 581. Only the top eight shooters advanced to the final, which is scheduled for Saturday.
The qualification event, held at Chateauroux, began with the precision round. Bhaker scored 294, placing third in this segment by shooting 97, 98, and 99 in the three series.
Although Veronika Major and Camille Jedrzejewski of France also scored 294, they ranked higher due to hitting more inner 10s—Major with 15, Jedrzejewski with 13, and Bhaker with seven.
In the rapid round, Manu Bhaker started with a perfect 100, followed by two 98s, ending with a total score of 590. Major’s two 100s and one 98 secured her first place and tied the Olympic record.

Esha Singh was 10th after the precision round with a score of 291, but her performance dipped in the rapid round, scoring 290, and she finished in 18th place.
