Manu, along with her shooting partner Sarabjot Singh, triumphed over Korea’s Wonho Lee and Jin Ye Oh in an intense match, earning India’s second medal of the 2024 Olympics. The pair delivered a strong performance, winning with a score of 16-10.
The competition began with a setback for India as Korea took the first round with a score of 20.5 to 18.8. However, Manu and Sarabjot quickly recovered in the second round, where Manu scored 10.7 and Sarabjot 10.5, outperforming Korea’s 19.9.
India continued to dominate in the third round, with both Manu and Sarabjot scoring 10.4 each, while Korea managed only 19.8. The lead extended to 6-2 after another strong round from the Indian duo, despite a slight slip from Sarabjot, who scored 9.6. Manu’s consistent performance ensured the round went to India as she hit 10.5, while Korea only managed 19.5.
Korea managed to pull back one round, but India reached double figures quickly, leading 10-4. Another round saw Manu falter slightly, allowing Korea to narrow the gap. However, India soon extended the lead to 12-6, moving closer to securing the medal.
