Currently, Dakota Johnson, who has often been seen energetically supporting Martin at Coldplay concerts, is busy working on her new project, The Materialists. Meanwhile, Martin is in London, leading Coldplay’s ongoing Music of the Spheres world tour.
This isn’t the first time the couple has faced rumors of a split. They briefly parted ways in 2019 before reconciling. Now, despite the latest round of rumors, it appears the couple is still going strong. Johnson’s representative recently told Page Six, “The reports are not true. They are happily together.”
Earlier reports from People had noted that Martin and Johnson were seen together at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK, where Johnson was spotted cheering Martin on during Coldplay’s performance in June. This public appearance came after previous reports indicated that their relationship was stable.
Despite past ups and downs, the couple seemed to be in a good place. A music insider also revealed that they were spotted together in Helsinki earlier this month. Johnson has even contributed to Coldplay’s music, helping with the song “feelslikeimfallinginlove.”

Rumors about their relationship first surfaced online when a source told the Daily Mail that the couple had ended their engagement and split for good. The insider claimed that they had decided to move on after realizing their relationship was no longer sustainable. The breakup rumors gained traction when Johnson was seen in Malibu without her engagement ring while walking her dog.
Speculation about their separation began in May, and even though they were seen together in June, the source insisted they had indeed split, struggling to keep the relationship going.
The source had said, “Chris and Dakota have tried really hard over the past few months to make their relationship work. They’ll always care for each other, but they’ve both come to realize that their relationship isn’t sustainable in the long run. They’re both very busy—Chris has been touring in Europe with Coldplay, and they each have personal and professional commitments that don’t easily align.
