Experts had previously indicated that this year’s CSE prelims were relatively easier than in recent years, suggesting that the cut-off scores might be higher.

Following the announcement of the preliminary examination results, the successful candidates will proceed to the Mains round. The Mains round includes a written examination and a personality test. According to the UPSC calendar, the Civil Services Mains Examination 2024 is tentatively set for September 20.

This year, the recruitment exams aim to fill 1,056 vacancies in various central government services and departments. These include the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Additionally, 40 positions are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
