The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the results for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination on Monday. These results are available on the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in. Candidates who participated in the exam can check their qualification status by visiting the website.
The examination was held in two shifts covering General Studies Paper 1 and Paper 2, with a total of 400 marks. The questions were multiple-choice with four options each, requiring candidates to select the correct or most appropriate answer.

1. Visit the official website upsc.gov.in.
2. Navigate to the ‘What’s New’ section and click on the UPSC CSE Prelims result 2024 link.
3. A PDF file with the roll numbers of the qualified candidates will open.
4. Download and print the PDF for future reference.

Experts had previously indicated that this year’s CSE prelims were relatively easier than in recent years, suggesting that the cut-off scores might be higher.
Following the announcement of the preliminary examination results, the successful candidates will proceed to the Mains round. The Mains round includes a written examination and a personality test. According to the UPSC calendar, the Civil Services Mains Examination 2024 is tentatively set for September 20.

This year, the recruitment exams aim to fill 1,056 vacancies in various central government services and departments. These include the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Additionally, 40 positions are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
