Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer married his long-time girlfriend Shruti Raghunathan in a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony.
Just a week after lifting his first Indian Premier League trophy, Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer married his long-time girlfriend Shruti Raghunathan in a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony on Sunday.
Iyer, dressed in a Mundu, garlanded Shruti, who wore a stunning blue saree with golden embroidery. Pictures of the ceremony quickly went viral on social media.

The couple got engaged in November last year. While many of Iyer’s KKR teammates were either at home or busy with national duties at the T20 World Cup 2024, franchise CEO Venky Mysore and teammate Varun Chakravarthy attended the wedding to celebrate Iyer’s special day.
A big WWE fan, Iyer has been a crucial player for KKR over the past four seasons. He first gained attention during the second phase of IPL 2021 in Dubai, where his power-hitting as an opener was key to KKR’s journey to the final. Following IPL 2021, Iyer made his international debut.
The subsequent two years were challenging for Iyer due to a leg injury, but he made a strong comeback in IPL 2024. Batting in the middle order, he scored 370 runs in 15 games with a strike rate of 158.79, including four fifties. His top score of 70 in the season came against the Mumbai Indians.
Shruti Raghunathan, now Iyer’s wife, works as a Merchandise Planner at Lifestyle International Private Limited in Bengaluru. She holds a BCom degree from PSG College of Arts and Science and a Master’s degree in Fashion Management from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
