The Bangalore police detained Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa for his alleged involvement in the Renukaswamy murder case.
On June 11, the Bangalore police detained Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa from Mysuru in connection with a murder case, as reported by HT Kannada. The South Indian star was apprehended due to his alleged involvement in the Renukaswamy murder case and is being transported to Bangalore.
The murder case centers around Renukaswamy, who reportedly posted defamatory content about Pavitra Gowda on social media, prompting an initial police probe. Renukaswamy’s body was discovered near Sumannahalli Bridge in Bengaluru, according to Asianet.

So far, ten individuals have been arrested in relation to the case. An Asianet report indicates that police officials are expected to provide more details in an upcoming press conference.
The 47-year-old actor was apprehended from a hotel in Mysuru concerning Renukaswamy’s murder.
Renukaswamy Murder Case Details
Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, was allegedly killed due to his online harassment of Pavithra Gowda, who is a close associate of Darshan. He was lured to a farmhouse in Mysuru, owned by Darshan, where the suspects allegedly tortured him for hours before murdering him.
His body was then dumped in a drain in Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalya area two months ago, as reported by The Hindu based on police sources. The body was found on June 9, sparking the investigation.
Following Darshan Thoogudeepa’s arrest, police have increased security around his residence in Bengaluru. Three suspects arrested early in the investigation reportedly confessed to killing Renukaswamy over financial disputes, according to the Indian Express.

Darshan Thoogudeepa is a renowned Kannada film actor, known for notable movies like Anatharu and Krantiveera Sangolly Rayanna, released in 2012.
Besides acting, he is also a producer and distributor. Born on February 16, 1977, Darshan established his production company, Thoogudeepa Productions, in 2006, debuting with the movie Jothe Jotheyalu, in which he made a special appearance.
Darshan has received several accolades, including the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna.
