Bollywood actress and BJP’s newly elected MP from Mandi Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF security officer Kulwinder Kaur at Chandigarh airport.
Bollywood actress and BJP MP-elect from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, claimed on Thursday that she was slapped by a CISF security official at Chandigarh Airport while traveling to Delhi.
Ranaut recounted that the incident occurred after she completed the security check and was heading to the boarding area. The CISF officer, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation with Ranaut before striking her.

Sources suggest that the alleged assault may have been provoked by Ranaut’s earlier controversial remarks about women in Punjab during the farmers’ protests. Following the incident, Kaur was suspended immediately, and an FIR was filed against her, according to CISF officials. A probe panel has been established to investigate the claims made by Ranaut.
In a video message posted on social media platform X, Ranaut explained that the officer declared her support for the farmers’ protest. Ranaut expressed concern over what she described as a rise in extremism in Punjab, questioning how such violence could be controlled.
“I am safe and perfectly fine,” Ranaut assured in the video. She recounted that after the security check, the officer approached, slapped, and verbally abused her, stating her support for the farmers as the reason.
Another video from the airport features the constable, Kaur, mentioning that her mother was among the protesters when Ranaut made her controversial comments. Kaur was subsequently detained and taken to the CISF Commandant Office for questioning.
Upon arriving in Delhi, Ranaut met with CISF Director General Nina Singh and other senior officials to discuss the incident.

The incident has sparked a significant political uproar, with numerous leaders demanding strict action. Congress leader and Ranaut’s election rival, Vikramaditya Singh, called the incident “unfortunate” and condemned the assault.
“I don’t have all the details, but I heard in the news that Kangana has been physically assaulted. It is very unfortunate. Such incidents should not happen, especially to women. We strongly condemn this,” Singh stated.
Kangana Ranaut defeated Vikramaditya Singh, a scion of the Rampur royal family and the incumbent state public works minister, by a margin of 74,755 votes in the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency. She is the fourth woman ever elected to the Lok Sabha from Himachal Pradesh and the first not hailing from a royal family.
