Justin Timberlake was taken into custody for running a stop sign and not maintaining his lane. Following his formal charge, Timberlake was released without bail and is set to make a virtual court appearance on July 26.
Justin Timberlake’s attorney has expressed his commitment to “vigorously defending” the singer following a charge of driving while intoxicated.
The 43-year-old artist was taken into custody shortly after midnight on Monday for running a stop sign and not maintaining his lane.
This incident took place in Sag Harbor, located in the Hamptons, a well-known vacation spot for celebrities in New York.
Following his formal charge, Timberlake was released without bail and is set to make a virtual court appearance on July 26, as confirmed by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Edward Burke Jr, Timberlake’s lawyer, stated to PA Media on Wednesday, “I look forward to vigorously defending Mr Timberlake on these allegations. I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office.”
Timberlake has been on a US tour promoting his sixth album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” and is scheduled to begin the international leg next month, starting with two shows in Poland. His court date, July 26, coincides with the start of his global tour at the Tauron Arena in Krakow.
According to the charging document, officers reported that Timberlake’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy,” and they detected a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” on his breath when they pulled him over. His speech was slow, and he failed the sobriety tests administered by the officers. Additionally, he refused to take a breathalyzer test.
