Michael Mosley, aged 67, was a familiar face in Britain due to his frequent television and radio appearances, and his column in the Daily Mail.
The body of British television presenter Michael Mosley was discovered on a Greek island on Sunday morning after an extensive search, according to his family.
A police spokesperson, requesting anonymity due to the ongoing investigation, confirmed that a body was located on a rocky coastline by a private vessel, though formal identification was still pending.

Mosley’s wife revealed in a statement that her husband had taken a wrong turn during a hike and collapsed in an obscured location. Mosley had been missing on the island of Symi since Wednesday afternoon.
“Michael’s adventurous spirit was one of his most special qualities,” Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley said. “Losing Michael, my amazing, funny, kind, and brilliant husband, is devastating. We were incredibly fortunate in our life together, deeply in love, and very happy.”
She expressed gratitude to the residents of Symi, who tirelessly searched for him.
“Many people on the island, even those unfamiliar with Michael, worked from dawn until dusk without being asked,” she said. “The global outpouring of love and support has been a great comfort to my family and me. It’s evident that Michael meant a great deal to so many.”
Lefteris Papakalodoukas, the mayor of Symi, informed The Associated Press that he was on a boat with media representatives when they spotted a body approximately 20 meters above Agia Marina beach. “We used cameras to zoom in and confirmed it was him,” he said.

The mayor noted that Mosley appeared to have fallen down a steep, rocky slope, coming to rest against a fence, face-up, with a few rocks on top.
As police retrieved Mosley’s body, a police officer fell on the slope and had to be carried away on a stretcher, local media reported. The body will be transported to the nearby island of Rhodes for an autopsy.

The book introduced the “5:2 diet,” advocating for reduced calorie intake two days a week while maintaining healthy eating the other five days.
He later developed a rapid weight loss program and produced several films on diet and exercise.
Michael Mosley was known for pushing his body to extremes to test his diets and even hosted the BBC documentary “Infested! Living With Parasites,” during which he lived with tapeworms in his intestines for six weeks.
He is survived by his wife, Clare Bailey Mosley, also a doctor, author, and health columnist, and their four children.
