World Health day is celebrated on April 7 each year to raise awareness about the general public health. Mentally and physically fit person can live a happy and peaceful life. But in today’s busy lifestyle, people are suffering physically as well as mentally.

People don’t find time for health in daily life. By giving just half to one hour to health, everyone can live longer. “Health is Wealth” is well known to all but very few people follow it. A healthy person remains engergized and productive as compared to an unhealthy person.

Here are five tips to stay mentally and physically fit.

Balanced diet

Diet plays an important part to keep the person healthy and fit. Poor diet can make a person unhealthy and it can cause diseases in the body whereas good and balanced diet improves immune system and keeps diseases away.

Diet should be enriched with vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and minerals which find in fruits, green vegetables, milk and milk related products etc. All these ingredients are very important to keep the immune system of the body strong.

Daily Exercise and Yoga

Daily and regular exercise leads to longer life. Atleast half an hour should be found for exercise in a day. By doing exercise or Yoga daily, person can improve the immune system and make the body disease-free. If an elderly can’t do exercise, they can walk everyday.

Drinking plenty of water

Human body is made up of 70% water. So, water is very necessary for the body. It keeps the body and mind hydrated. Atleast 8-10 glasses of water should be consumed on daily basis. Water helps in throwing out toxins or bad particles from the body.

8 hours sleep

8-10 hours sleep is necessary for the mind and body. Some people compromise with sleep and keep working without any break but they don’t know that even 5-10 minutes nap during daytime can increase productivity. Sleeplessness only decrease productivity whereas 8-10 hours sleep keeps the mind fresh and active.

Routine checkups

Time to time body checkups should be done including eye and dental check-ups. Body checkup is necessary within six months. It helps in timely detection of any disease so that it can be treated on time.
