Amitabh Bachchan to Play Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s Epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’

Amitabh Bachchan’s much-anticipated role in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD has been the buzz of the town lately. The ambitious project stars Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in lead roles, with Big B’s character being touted as pivotal.

Recently, a new poster of Amitabh Bachchan was shared by the makers, and during the Live IPL match of RCB vs KKR, a new promo of Kalki 2898 AD was unveiled.

In the promo, it’s revealed that Amitabh Bachchan will portray the character of Ashwatthama in the film. The teaser begins with a child asking Big B if it’s true that he can never die.

Later, the actor unveils his full look and declares, “Dwapar yug se dashavatar ki prateeksha kar raha hoon. Dronacharya ka putra, Ashwatthama.”

About Kalki 2898 AD

Kalki 2898 AD, made on a budget of Rs 600 crore, is touted as the most expensive Indian film ever produced. Directed and written by Nag Ashwin, the film is backed by Vyjatanthi Movies.

Prabhas takes the lead role, while Deepika Padukone stars alongside him, marking their first collaboration. Additionally, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani play crucial roles.

The movie is set to hit theaters worldwide on May 9, 2024. Notably, Kalki 2898 AD marks Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan’s third collaboration after Piku and Aarakshan. They will reunite for the official Hindi adaptation of Robert De Niro’s film, The Intern.
