The roots of this clash can be traced back to Sagar Thakur’s social media posts about Elvish’s camaraderie with fellow Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui during a cricket match.
The incident in question unfolded during the opening match of the Indian Street Premier League on March 7, where Elvish and Munawar participated alongside cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar.
Elvish, known for his vocal support of Hindutva, faced backlash from his followers for aligning himself with Munawar, who had been previously arrested in 2021 for alleged “indecent” remarks about Hindu deities.
Adding fuel to the fire, Sagar Thakur took jabs at Elvish, labeling him a “hypocrite.” In response, Elvish retorted, “Bhai tu Delhi hi rehta hai socha yad dila du (Brother, let me remind you that you live in Delhi).”
The online spat escalated further, leading to Sagar Thakur sharing a screenshot of his alleged conversation with Elvish, revealing plans to meet in Gurugram at 12:30 am on March 8. Subsequently, Maxtern documented his journey to Gurugram and, around 2 am, posted a video claiming that Elvish Yadav and his group had physically assaulted him, accompanied by a death threat.
