Stone, 35, previously won her first Oscar in 2016 for her performance in the musical “La La Land.” In “Poor Things,” a Frankenstein-inspired tale, Stone’s character undergoes a journey of self-discovery and liberation, navigating through a surreal 19th-century Europe after being revived by a mad scientist, played by Willem Dafoe.

The narrative unfolds as Bella engages in dramatic encounters, notably exploring her independence through relationships, starting with a flamboyant lawyer portrayed by Mark Ruffalo and later with a series of clients in a Parisian brothel.
