Lionsgate has just dropped an exhilarating first look at Guy Ritchie’s highly anticipated World War II film, “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” featuring an impressive ensemble cast led by Henry Cavill, Alan Ritchson, Eiza González, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, Cary Elwes, and more.
The movie, slated for a theatrical release on April 19, unfolds as an “outrageous true story,” drawing inspiration from the covert WWII combat organization led by U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill and iconic James Bond author Ian Fleming.
The narrative follows a clandestine squad employing unconventional and ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis, ultimately altering the trajectory of the war and birthing the concept of modern Black Ops units.
The recently unveiled trailer showcases the formation of the team, with Henry Cavill‘s character orchestrating a covert cadre of Nazi killers.
In a gripping moment, Cavill warns Elwes’ character, “You won’t like them. They’re all… bad,” setting the stage for a pulse-pounding and bloody montage where undercover agents embark on a Nazi murder spree, with Cavill’s character exuberantly unloading rounds of bullets.
Adapted from the eponymous book by war correspondent Damien Lewis, the film’s script is a collaboration between Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, Arash Amel, and Ritchie himself.

The project’s inception dates back to 2015 when Tamasy and Johnson successfully pitched it to producers Bruckheimer and Paramount.
The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Ivan Atkinson (Ritchie’s producing partner), and John Friedberg for Black Bear International. Executive producers include Scott Lastaiti, Olga Filipuk, Damien Lewis, Paul Tamasy, and Eric Johnson, contributing to the film’s promising blend of historical intrigue, action, and star power.
