Lawrence County school districts are gearing up to honor Veterans Day with various programs and activities.
Ellwood City:
The Ellwood City Area School District plans to hold an assembly at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Lincoln Junior-Senior High School, featuring patriotic songs by the Blue Band and speeches from honored veterans.
Laurel:
Laurel School District will adorn its campus with American flags and host a Patriotic Tribute Concert at 7 p.m., showcasing performances by band and choir students from grades 5 to 12.
LCCTC:
Lawrence County Career and Technical Center students, recent gold medalists in the national SkillsUSA competition, will participate in the Lawrence County Veterans Day parade, distributing American flags to veterans. Peer leadership students at LCCTC are also contributing to the Veterans’ Wall of Honor.
Mohawk:
The Mohawk Area School District is celebrating its 25th annual Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. The event, sponsored by the Mohawk Future Business Leaders of America and the Cathedral Foundation, will feature presentations, music, a video presentation, and a keynote address from local veteran Jack Seltzer.
