Efron, previously associated with musicals and comedies, continues his dramatic biopic streak after “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile,” where he portrayed Ted Bundy. White, known for his TV roles in “Shameless” and “The Bear,” embraces a challenging character in this film.
Director Sean Durkin, acclaimed for psychological dramas like “The Nest” and “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” adds his touch to the project. The Von Erich family, renowned for wrestling championships, faced personal tragedies, with five of Fritz’s six sons passing away before the age of 33, including three by suicide.
