The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the complete schedule of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The tournament is scheduled to be held in India from October 5 to November 19, 2023.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. India will be hosting the Cricket World Cup for the fourth time. The much-awaited tournament will start from October 5, 2023 and the final will be played on November 19, 2023.
The first match of the tournament will be played between the 2019 World Cup finalists England and New Zealand. England had won that world cup in an interesting final match.
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 – Teams
A total of 10 teams will play this tournament. India, as the host nation, secured direct qualification, alongwith Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa. These 8 teams have qualified for the World Cup. The rest two teams will be determined after the World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe.
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 – Important Updates
As per schedule, the first match of the tournament between England and New Zealand on October 5, 2023 will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The final match on November 19, 2023 will also be played at that venue. Narendra Modi Stadium is the biggest stadium in the world with the seating capacity of more than 1,00,000.
First semi-final match of the tournament will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai while the second semi-final is scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 – Venues
Cricket World Cup 2023 will be played in a total of 10 venues – Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamshala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata.
Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram in addition to Hyderabad will host the warm-up matches from September 29 to October 3, 2023.

India, the host country, will start their world cup journey on October 8, 2023 against five time World Cup winners Australia in Chennai.
