Shahnawaz Pradhan, best known for his role in Mirzapur, dies at 56 after suffering a heart attack. Actor Yashpal Sharma and Rajesh Tailang paid tribute to him.
Mirzapur actor Shahnawaz Pradhan has died on Friday, February 17 after suffering a heart attack. Reportedly, he was in a award function in Mumbai when he complained of severe chest pain and fell unconscious. He was rushed to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital where doctors declared him dead. He was 56.
Shahnawaz Pradhan acted in many films, TV shows and web series. He acted in Shahrukh Khan’s Raees, Saif Ali Khan’s Phantom, Tota weds Maina, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Khuda Haafiz and many others. In Mirzapur, he played the role of the father of Golu and Sweety.
Actors mourned over the demise of Shahnawaz Pradhan
Actor Yashpal Sharma was also present in that award show where Pradhan suffered heart attack. He took to social media and wrote, “Attended this program in Mumbai today… Everything was going very well… Rizz Dime Darrell ji and hundreds of other artists were present but in the middle, shortly after receiving the award, our favorite artist Shahnawaz had some attack…”
“The whole program stopped everyone. And with the help of the doctor, he was quickly picked up and taken to Kokila Ben Hospital, which was the nearest one, but no one could save him, he left…. This is the bitter truth of our life…. In what pride does man live and what is life……. Well the program ended well but a life was lost…..so many artistes were gathered at one place and a life was lost before our eyes…. Something seems a bit off…. Salute to Rita, so many people met at one place but one person has gone, this sorrow will continue throughout life…. God rest his soul in peace and give courage to the family…”
Rajesh Tailang, who shared screen with Shahnawaz in Mirzapur paid tribute to the late actor. He wrote, “Shahnawaz bhai aakhiri salaam !!! Kya gazab ke zaheen insaan aur kitne behatar adaakar the aap. Mirzapur ke dauran kitna sundar waqt guzara aapke saath, Yaqeen nahin ho raha”
Reportedly, the last rites of Shahnawaz Pradhan will take place on Saturday in Mumbai.
