PM Narendra Modi released the 12th instalment of Rs. 16,000 crore under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The instalment has been released ahead of Diwali and ongoing rabi sowing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on monday released the 12th instalment of Rs. 16,000 crore under the scheme of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN).
PM Modi inaugurated the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 at Indian Agricultural Research Institute Pusa, New Delhi and releases the 12th instalment of PM KISAN in the bank account of 11 crore eligible farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer. The instalment has been released ahead of Diwali and ongoing rabi sowing.
With this, the total amount transferred to the bank accounts of beneficiaries is expected to cross 2.16 lakh crore.
PM-KISAN is a scheme launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 1, 2019 to provide financial support to the poor farmers. Under the scheme, eligible farmer families are provided benefits of Rs. 6000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs. 2000 each.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Chemicals & Fertilisers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya were present during the event. About 13,500 farmers and 1500 agro entrepreneurs attended the event at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister started by acknowledging the presence of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan and Jai Anusandhan in one premise, and said that we can see the live form of this mantra here today. He further elaborated that Kisan Sammelan is a means to make the lives of farmers easier, boost their capability and promote advanced agricultural techniques.
Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated 600 Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samruddhi Kendras (PMKSK) under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers. Furthermore, he also launched Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana – One Nation One Fertiliser.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Agri Startup Conclave and Exhibition. During the event, the Prime Minister also launched ‘Indian Edge’, an e-magazine on fertiliser.
