‘Riverdale’ and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ actor Ryan Grantham has been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his mother and there is no possibility of parole for 14 years.
The by-the-book second-degree murder punishment was written by British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Kathleen Ker on September 21 in Vancouver.

The former actor shot his 64-year-old mother Barbara Waite in the back of the head on March 31, 2020 as she played piano in the family’s squamish home, just north of Vancouver.
Later it was revealed that he made a video of his mother’s body and confessed to the killing on-camera.
After killing his mother, Ryan Grantham planned to kill Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. For this purpose, he loaded three guns in his car, ammunition and 12 Molotov Cocktails as well as camping supplies and moved to Mr. Trudeau’s residence at Rideau Cottage.
But on the way he turned his car to Vancouver police station and bluntly told to an officer: ‘I killed my mother’.

Initially on the charge of first-degree murder, the 24-year-old actor has been in police custody for two and half years, law enforcement officials in Vancouver told to Deadline.
According to the Canadian laws, under second-degree murder punishment, there is no parole eligibilty of between 10 and 25 years.
Starting his career back in 2007, Ryan Grantham played the pivotal role of Jeffery Augustine on the fourth season of ‘Riverdale’ in 2019. He also appeared in the 2010 movie ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ and a fantasy movie ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’.
The Leo awards nominated Grantham was also seen in a drama series ‘iZombie’ and a TV series ‘Supernatural’.
Ryan Grantham is considered committing a mass shooting at Vancouver’s Simon Fraser University or on the iconic Lions Gate Bridge.
In March this year, Grantham expressed sorrow at what he had done. “In the face of something so horrible, saying sorry seems so pointless but from every fiber of my being, I am sorry,” he told the Vancouver Court and Justice Kathleen Ker.
