The All-India Senior Selection Committee has announced the 15 member T20 World Cup squad of India for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma will lead the Men in Blue and KL Rahul will be the vice-captain.
Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, who were ruled out of Asia Cup due to injury, have been included in the World Cup squad. There are four pacers in the squad including Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh. All-rounder Hardik Pandya will also help them in bowling.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the squad due to his knee injury. He has undergone a surgery. Axar Patel has been included in the squad in place of him.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin are the spinners in the team. Selection committee has preferred experienced Ravichandran Ashwin over Ravi Bishnoi, who has been included as a standby player.
Dinesh Karthik also secured his place in the squad. Karthik and Rishabh Pant are the two wicket-keeping options.
India’s batting lineup include Captain Rohit Sharma, Vice-captain KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik.
Mohammad Shami, Ravi Bishnoi, Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar are the standby players.
