A well-known singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, dies in Kolkata at the age of 53. He died shortly after a live performance at a concert at Kolkata’s Nazrul Mancha. As per reports, he felt uneasy during his live performance and went backstage to take a break. When he was on the way to his hotel, he felt cold in the air conditioner of his car.
Then, he was rushed to the Calcutta Medical Research Institue where he was declared brought dead. “It is unfortunate that we could not treat him,” a senior doctor of the hospital said.
KK’s fans rushed to the hospital after hearing this news.

Prime minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to his family and fans. He said that we will always remember him through his songs.
“Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti,” PM Modi wrote.
Delhi based singer KK made his debut with the album ‘Pal’ in 1999. He sang over 3500 jingles before he got his break. He was quite inspired by Kishore Kumar.
KK was a versatile singer. Apart from Hindi, he also sang songs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Bengali, among other languages.
He was one of the jury members on the TV reality show Fame Gurukul in which Arijit Singh was a contestant.
He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
