World Athletics Day 2022:- History
World Athletics day was founded by IAAF president Primo Nebiolo in 1996. It was introduced as a social responsibility project titled ‘Athletic for a better world’ by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
IAAF was founded on July 17, 1912 by 17 National Athletics Federations in Sweden’s Stockholm. It is an International Governing body for the field of Athletics which performs crucial roles such as organising competition programs, standardising technical equipment and making list of official world records. Currently, IAAF is known as World Athletics, which was announced in 2019.
