Renowned Bengali actor Abhishek Chatterjee dies at the age of 58 in Bengal. West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee expressed condolences on his death.
Renowned Bengali actor Abhishek Chatterjee dies on thursday, March 24 at the age of 58. According to some reports on the internet, he died due to cardiac arrest. On wednesday, he was feeling unwell. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee expressed condolences on his death and said Abhishek was talented and versatile in his performances.
“Sad to know of the untimely demise of our young actor Abhishek Chatterjee . Abhishek was talented and versatile in his performances, and we shall miss him. It is a great loss for TV serials and our film industry. My condolences to his family and friends,” Mamata Banerjee tweeted.
Abhishek Chatterjee was born on April 30, 1964 in Baranagar, West Bengal. He completed his secondary schooling at the Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama High School and graduated from the Seth Anandram Jaipuria College of the University of Calcutta.
Abhishek made his film debut alongside veterans such as Sandhya Roy, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Tapas Paul, and Utpal Dutt with the Bengali film ‘Pathbhola’ in 1986, directed by Tarun Majumdar.
Some of his notable movies are Dahan, Bariwali and Alo. He also acted in several television serials.
