Colombian President Gustavo Petro confirmed that Liverpool’s Colombian winger Luis Diaz’s mother has been successfully rescued from kidnappers in Barrancas, northern Colombia. However, the search for his father is ongoing.

Colombia’s Attorney General’s Office has been actively involved in the case, deploying a specialized team of prosecutors, police, and military personnel to locate and clarify the situation, as well as identify those responsible.

Reports indicate that Luis Diaz’s parents, Luis Manuel Diaz and Cilenis Marulanda, were abducted by armed men on motorbikes while at a service station in the La Guajira area.

General William Salamanca, the director of the police, has mobilized intelligence agents and other law enforcement resources to address the situation, conducting checkpoints and identification efforts to secure the release of the kidnapped couple.

Governor Diala Wilches of La Guajira condemned the kidnapping and called for the immediate and safe return of the victims.

Liverpool, deeply concerned about the situation, is providing support to Luis Diaz and is hopeful for a swift resolution while making the player’s well-being a top priority.
