The top seed Novak Djokovic beat Nick Kyrgios in the Wimbledon 2022 final by 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3). He won his fourth consecutive Wimbledon title. With this win, he claimed his 21st Major trophy.
Wimbledon 2022 Final:- The top seed Novak Djokovic wins the Wimbledon 2022 title. Serbian star Djokovic beat Nick Kyrgios in the final by 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3). Nick Kyrgios also gave tough competition to him. The final lasted for 3 hours 1 minute.
This is the 7th Wimbledon title of Novak Djokovic. He is behind only Roger Federer, who has record 8 Wimbledon titles on his name.
Novak Djokovic won his fourth consecutive Wimbledon title. He also won this title in 2018, 2019, 2021 and now in 2022. In 2020, Wimbledon tournament was cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The 35-year old Djokovic claimed his 21st Major trophy with this win. Before Australian Open 2022, Big three Djokovic, Nadal and Federer had equal number of Major titles counted 20. Then, Rafael Nadal surpassed the other big two by winning Australian Open 2022 and French Open 2022.
These wins raised Nadal’s Major counting to 22 and now Djokovic is one Grand Slam title behind Nadal’s record of 22 Major crowns. Djokovic could not take part in Australian Open this year because he was not vaccinated against Covid-19.

“I’ve lost words for what this tournament and what this trophy means to me. It always has been the most special tournament. It was the one that motivated me to play tennis. Every time this tournament gets more special and meaningful,” Djokovic said after the Wimbledon 2022 final match.
Djokovic levels his seven Wimbledon titles with his boyhood idol Pete Sampras. Djokovic’s earliest memory of watching tennis on television, and the match that inspired him to ask his parents for a racket, was seeing Sampras lift this trophy for the first time in 1993.
