Congress leader Konda Surekha stirred controversy by claiming that BRS leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) was involved in the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Surekha alleged that KTR engaged in phone tapping and blackmail of female actors, suggesting that these actions played a role in the couple’s separation. This led to significant backlash, both from the public and the actors involved.

Naga Chaitanya strongly refuted these claims, calling them “false, ridiculous, and unacceptable.” He emphasized that the divorce between him and Samantha was a mutual decision made after much thought, driven by their differing life goals. He stated that dragging personal life decisions into the political spotlight was shameful and damaging.
Chaitanya had largely remained silent on the divorce out of respect for Samantha and their families but felt compelled to respond to these new allegations.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu also issued a statement addressing the controversy. She clarified that her divorce was a private matter and had nothing to do with political interference. Samantha expressed frustration with how her name was being used in political disputes and urged those involved to respect her privacy. She noted the strength and courage it takes to navigate the personal challenges of life, especially in a public-facing career.
