On October 1, 2024, actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai due to a bout of digestive discomfort. The 73-year-old was taken in for an elective medical procedure, which was scheduled in advance at the hospital’s cath lab.

Despite initial concerns, it was clarified that his condition was stable and not life-threatening. He underwent treatment for his digestive issues, with doctors monitoring his condition closely.

His hospitalization led to an outpouring of support from fans, with many sending wishes for a quick recovery on social media. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin also conveyed his well-wishes.

Rajinikanth’s family, including his wife Latha, reassured the public that he was doing well and that there was no need for concern. Rajinikanth is expected to be discharged within a day of the procedure, after which he will continue resting at home.
