Chakraborty, at 74, expressed deep emotion upon receiving the news, saying, “I don’t have words. Neither can I laugh nor cry. This is such a big thing… I could not have imagined this.” He dedicated the award to his family and fans, acknowledging the enormous support they’ve shown throughout his career.

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award will be presented to Chakraborty during the 70th National Film Awards ceremony on October 8, 2024. This recognition marks a fitting tribute to a career spanning nearly five decades, highlighting Mithun’s indelible impact on Indian cinema.
