Geetha mentioned that Thulasidas had knocked on her door and called her room phone, but she clarified that no physical harm was done. However, she expressed her willingness to provide more details if approached by an inquiry committee.
Geetha emphasized that the release of the Hema Committee report is a chance to bring about much-needed reforms in the industry. She recounted her early struggles, stating, “When I entered the film industry in 1991, I had a negative experience. I stood my ground and said ‘no’ when necessary, which led to me being ostracized. Speaking up for oneself often means losing out on opportunities. If I get roles, that’s fine; if not, so be it.”
She also highlighted the support she received from some colleagues who acted as protectors, helping to prevent further harassment. Despite acknowledging that there are many good people in the industry, Geetha pointed out that discrimination persists. She criticized the industry’s claims of equal treatment for actors, arguing that the reality is quite different.
Geetha called for a shift in how complaints are handled, noting that the accused often continue to receive roles while the complainants are marginalized. This, she said, is an issue that must be addressed.

Geetha expressed her gratitude to the government for establishing the Hema Committee and welcomed the release of its findings. While she praised the film industry as a wonderful field, she also stressed that the misconduct within it can be unbearable.
Geetha Vijayan urged the industry to become a safer environment, as safety is essential for actors to work effectively. She concluded by calling for an end to the misery that many women in the industry have endured.
