The Navi Mumbai Police on Saturday apprehended four members of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang for allegedly planning an attack on Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s car in Panvel, according to ANI. An FIR has been registered against 17 individuals linked to the case, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra, and Goldy Brar.

Details of the Arrests
The four individuals arrested by the police have been identified as Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna, and Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan. Reports indicate that the accused were planning to source weapons from Pakistan, execute an attack on Salman Khan, and subsequently escape to Sri Lanka.
Preparations for the Attack
According to the police, the accused had conducted reconnaissance of Salman Khan’s house and farmhouse. Ajay Kashyap had reportedly contacted a person named Dogar in Pakistan via video call to arrange for weapons, including AK-47s.
The police further revealed that around 60 to 70 members of the Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra gangs had gathered from areas including Mumbai, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and Gujarat to monitor Salman Khan.
Use of Minors and Escape Plans
The Navi Mumbai Police’s statement indicated that the gang intended to use minors to carry out the attack on Salman Khan and then flee the country. The escape plan involved traveling by boat from Tamil Nadu’s Kanniyakumari to Sri Lanka.

Recent Related Incidents
This development follows an incident weeks earlier where two bike-borne individuals fired multiple rounds outside Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, where Salman Khan resides. CCTV footage from April 14 showed one of the assailants firing towards Khan’s residence.
Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, believed to have connections with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, were arrested in Gujarat. A third accused, Anuj Thapan, was also arrested in April but died on May 1 in the lock-up of the Mumbai police’s crime branch.
