Renowned Malayalam writer and filmmaker M.T. Vasudevan Nair passed away on December 25, 2024, at the age of 91. He had been admitted to Baby Memorial Hospital in Kozhikode on December 15 due to breathing difficulties. Despite medical treatment, his condition deteriorated, leading to his death.

Nair’s contributions to literature and cinema have been monumental, earning him numerous accolades, including the Jnanpith Award and multiple National Film Awards. His works, such as “Randamoozham” and “Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha,” have left an indelible mark on Indian culture.
In accordance with his wishes, Nair‘s funeral was conducted privately, with no public viewing. The ceremony took place on December 26, 2024, at 5 PM.
The literary and film communities, along with admirers worldwide, mourn the loss of this iconic figure, whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
