The plaintiff, referred to as “Jane Doe,” claims the incident happened in an MTV Video Music Awards after-party. Initially, the lawsuit named only Diddy, but it has since been amended to include Jay-Z as a co-defendant.
The lawsuit details that the plaintiff was brought to an after-party by a limousine driver claiming to work for Diddy. The party, allegedly involving drug use, led to the plaintiff being assaulted after consuming a drink that left her disoriented. The legal case seeks unspecified damages, which has been filed under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act.
Both Jay-Z and Diddy have denied the allegations. Jay-Z’s Roc Nation issued a statement dismissing the claims as attempts to extract money through litigation, while Diddy’s lawyers labeled the accusations as publicity stunts designed to harm his reputation.
Diddy is already facing other legal challenges, including charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking, for which he maintains his innocence.
